OTHER THOUGHTS: BIPOC Authors

Last year, I made it a priority to read more books with diverse characters and books by #bipoc authors. Of the 250 books I read last year, 60 books fit the bill.

What I realized along the way is that I was unintentionally white washing my reading. I was only reading voices that echoed my experience and frankly, that's not how we grow as people. I don't want to see one view. I want to learn and I want to grow through my reading.

I am incredibly happy that I chose to intentionally diversify my reading list last year and I plan to continue this year. I've found so many new #poc authors that I absolutely love. Many of these diverse reads ended up in my top reads of 2020!
