REVIEW: The Off Limits Rule

If you don't follow @authorsarahadams on Instagram, you should do so immediately. She is the epitome of adorable and that's exactly how I felt about her newest book, The Off Limits Rule. It was freaking adorable. From the inner monologues of both Cooper and Lucy to Lucy's ability to make any situation awkward and comical, it had me hooked. I had read some of her other books, and I loved this one just as much.

Lucy is a single mom that just struck out in Atlanta, so she moves back home to Nashville to live with her older brother, Drew. With her life in shambles, Lucy isn't sure what to do next. Cue Drew's best friend (and former roommate) Cooper. Cooper is a good looking and a certified flirt. Everything that Lucy has convinced herself that she's not good enough to be able to have. Oh and not to mention, Drew put a kibosh on the whole Lucy and Cooper dating thing. What neither Lucy nor Cooper account for is their instant attraction to each other that they can't deny (but neither knows the other feels the exact same). They decide to just be "friends," but that becomes a bigger task than they realize. Whatever are they supposed to do?

What I loved...

  • Lucy's character. She is just so awkward and I was there for every second of it! She un-apologetically owns who she is, even though she lacks serious self confidence.

  • How Cooper pushes Lucy's buttons constantly, just to see her squirm. It's romantic, attractive, but ultimately leads Lucy toward figuring out her true self.

  • Drew's character. I freaking loved Drew, even despite his annoying insistence that Cooper and Lucy couldn't date. I remember when Sarah was writing the book and she teased that we would love Drew and she was totally right. I cannot wait to see what happens for him in the next book. It's coming out tomorrow, right?!?!

The Off Limits Rule is available on Kindle Unlimited and also in paperback. And if you haven't read Sarah's other two contemporary romances, The Match and The Enemy, you definitely need to read those too!
