"Cutting loose was not in Paige's vocabulary. Order and control were the keys to happiness."

Paige is a workaholic with no need for clutter. She's uptight and eternally single. But when her assistant Sammy suggests a vacation to detox, Paige finds herself at a less than advertised inn on a quaint island in North Carolina in the middle of winter. Cue Lucas, owner of said run-down inn and single dad to a rambunxious little girl, Maddie. He's hot, but has a mouth on him, and what ensues between the two is a little bit of adventure and some romance.
I absolutely adored Happy Singles Day! The dialogue was quick and witty, and had me laughing out loud throughout the entire book. I especially loved Paige's assistant Sammy. The way he could read Paige and push her buttons was one of my favorite parts. I'm going to need a Sammy in my life, stat.
I also loved how neither Paige or Lucas were screaming for a relationship, but they seemed to "fit" together in the sweetest ways. Both pushed each other out of their shells, but didn't back down when things got tough. Throw in a puppy rescue in a storm and nostalgic 90s TV and movie references, and you have a book that makes you smile the entire time. Happy Singles Day was a fun, light read that I really enjoyed. Not only did the book make me smile, @annmarie_walker was so fun to talk to in our @lovearctually book chat. “Meeting” her made me love the book more!!
4/5 stars
