I am so excited to be a part of the Float Plan Blog Tour! I read this book in a buddy read with the LoveARCtually Book Club, and had the pleasure of getting to speak with author Trish Doller via Zoom as she was on location in the Caribbean. It was exciting to hear that Float Plan will be part of a series! Check out my review of the book below.

⛵️ REVIEW ⛵️
Anna wakes up to an alarm saying, "Today is the day! We're going sailing!" It's almost a year after she lost her fiance and the grief is crippling. Anna is struggling to move on. In an attempt to heal, she packs a bag, quits her job, and takes their Alberg boat out on the trip they were supposed to make together. Soon, Anna realizes she's in over her head and needs help. Cue Keane, who not only helps Anna sail the Caribbean, but also helps her find her way.
Float Plan is spot on with its portrayal of grief. Is there a limit on grief? Who says when it's time to get over loss? How long you are allowed to mourn? This book handles grief with the care it deserves. But it also shows that you can come back from loss.
Keane's character is simply the best. Anna describes him as an "Irish Mary Poppins" with facial hair and it totally fits. I loved his positive outlook and his strong convictions. He's confident, but knows how to push Anna without breaking her spirit. Keane helps Anna see that Ben's plan might not be her plan and that's okay.
Overall, I loved the book. The settings made me want to pack my bags and hop on the nearest sailboat (too bad we're in the middle of a pandemic and I get motion sickness). Anna's journey through grief and self-discovery was just beautiful. I was rooting for her the entire book.
